Product Care Tips

CALF LEATHER

Slight imperfections are entirely normal on the type of natural leathers used by M2MALLETIER. To maintain their natural appearance, of do not treat them with chemical products. This makes them vulnerable to inclement weather. We recommend keeping light colors out of contact with water or other liquids. Avoid rain and direct contact with heat. To remove small amounts of dirt (if needed), use a small amount of neutral moisturizing cream and massage with a soft dry cloth. Calf leather products should always be stored inside their dust bag when not in use or traveling.

VELVET

Velvet is especially delicate and subject to wear and marking. We recommend treating your velvet product with care and avoiding contact with rain or any other liquids. Velvet products should always be placed in a safe place to avoid touching other surfaces that could leave markings. Therefore, they should always be stored inside their dust bag when not in use or traveling. We recommend taking your product to a velvet cleaning specialist when needed.

SUEDE

Extra care is required with suede as it is more susceptible to marking, soiling and spillage marks. This is one of the most delicate leathers and it may have small color variations due to rubbing or prolonged exposure to heat or light. By nature, this material is prone to losing color over time. Prolonged contact with water or other liquids can also cause staining. Suede may also transfer it’s color onto lighter fabrics. Avoid contact with any lighter fabric to avoid this, such as wearing a white dress with a darker suede bag. To remove small amounts of dirt, we recommend using a special suede brush. If the product has come into direct contact with water, wait for it to dry and then proceed with brushing. Suede products should always be stored inside their dust bag when not in use or traveling.

BEADS

All products with beads are entirely hand made. It is important to prevent these from coming into direct contact with rough surfaces in order to avoid scratches and possible unstitching. We suggest keeping these in their designated dust bags while not in use or traveling. To clean the beads and embroidery, use a slightly damp, soft cloth (not to be used on leather or silk).

HARDWARE

To preserve our iconic gold-plated hardware, avoid contact with abrasive products and clean it with a dry soft cloth.

EXOTICS

By nature, exotic skins such as water snake, eel, or python show cracking as a sign of wear over time, especially if exposed to humidity in the air. We recommend preserving the product in a dry, ventilated environment. To remove a small amount of dirt, use a soft cloth. Avoid prolonged contact with water and other abrasive liquids. Exotic skin products should always be stored inside their dust bag when not in use or traveling.
